Install RHEL 7 in XenServer
Website Visitors:When installing RHEL 7 in xenserver, most of us might use the RHEL 6(64 bit) template. When creating vm with RHEL6 template, you need to add a word “vnc” at selecting the iso file step. Once the vm is up, you need to use vnc client to access that vm and configure the RHEL 7 OS. But when you follow this process, once the vm is built, you might get some error like:
Error: Starting VM ‘RHEL 7’ - Internal error: xenopsd internal error: VM = eda0e1ca-b6aa-f711-ff0a-7cf742ca3579; domid = 10; Bootloader.Bad_error Traceback (most recent call last):
File “/usr/bin/pygrub”, line 903, in ? fs = fsimage.open(file, part_offs[0], bootfsoptions) IOError: [Errno 95] Operation not supported
And your vm dont boot up. So, I have used “Other Install Media” as the template and built a vm and installed RHEL 7 in it. It worked fine with no issues. You dont have to use vnc too. Just use it as normal vm while installation.
And gave the normal RHEL 7 configuration to the vm like 2 GB ram, 20 GB HD, 1 vcpu etc..
