You might want to test a new Windows OS version before you deploy it on your laptop/desktop. You have software programs like VMware workstation or VirtualBox to create a VM, deploy a VM in it and test the look and feel of the OS. I’ve recently tried to install Windows 10 OS and ended up with the below error:

You will get this error when you add the Windows 10 ISO file in CD drive while creating VM. To resolve this issue, when creating VM, select I will install the operating system later option as shown below.

After the new VM wizard is complete, before you click on power on, edit the VM settings and point CD/DVD to the ISO file you downloaded.
